Cosmetic Gear is any appearance-only item or equipment that offers zero status or bonuses to the character wearing it.
Overview[]
Cosmetic Gear can be equipped alone or over armor.
- It has it's own equipment slot.
- In Landmark, it is a single-equip item. If you click on it in your inventory, it only requires one slot: an appearance slot for the chest.
How to Obtain[]
Cosmetic Gear has three types:
- Innate items these are crafted at any Replicator.
- Non-innate recipes
- You must purchase them using the Lumen Station.
- Single-use items this type of non-crafted Cosmetic Gear can only be purchased as a one-off (single) item using the Lumen Station.
- This final means take the place of the need to buy it through the Marketplace tab of the Showcase. In other words, this can function like a portal to buy Cosmetic Gear using real-world money as is common in many modern games.
- How to Obtain Lumens:
What sets this apart from most other games, is that Lumens can be earned from normal, in-game activities or players have the option to buy them.
- Most non-building activities earn some Lumens. They include: defeating monsters, discovering loot chests, mining, logging trees, "clearing" outposts, and touching Lost Crystals to reveal Lost Chests.
- Players can also buy Daybreak Cash using real-world money and then use it to buy Lumens through the Marketplace tab of the Showcase.
Founder's Outfits[]
Those who helped with alpha and closed beta who purchased certain Founder's Packs were granted special, no-trade Cosmetic Gear.
- See the Founder's Packs page for details on which packs granted each outfit.

Other Info[]
During the game's development there was talk of multiple slot Cosmetic Gear items from the developers. As of 2016, it seems that these may not be added, as all items are single-slot outfits.
